Currently Creative – Link Up

Currently Creative #2

I am sharing on the currently creative link-up that Kellie from Give a Girl a Blog is holding today my current goodies!

Right now, I am working on a blanket, it is a simple notion – from Martha Stewart, “if you can knit a scarf, you can knit a blanket” the pattern is here.  I actually stumbled across this pattern via Kellie!  I have started it recently and am moving along quite well.  The kids are now requesting a knitted blanket also!  This one is for our bed, so a queen size.

IMG_5818I am using pure wool, and it is surely warm!  I have about 60″ done!  So I am getting there.  I am using three colours, White, navy and maroon.  Long story, but our first ‘grown’ up set of sheets were this colour so it is a bit of a laugh!

The other creative outlet is PL – I have done a few weeks catching up here, and am still loving the simplicity and the process.

PL week 12

IMG_5780My other avenue of creating is cooking.  My youngest kids turn four next week, so they had a special lunch at Kindy on Monday for them.  Three individual tastes, three different cupcakes – For Brendan, chocolate cup cakes –

IMG_5786For Emma, orange cake and orange icing –

IMG_5784And finally, for what was our chicken little, Caitllyn (or Cakelyn!!) pink ‘tasting’ cakes with pink icing.  Settled for strawberry cupcakes and strawberry icing.

IMG_5785That is about it from me of late!

  1. WOW you not only have one avenue of what your currently getting creative with but 3, 3 different ways of being creative. Stop that Ali, your making us look bad, hahaha, KIDDING. I love the cupcakes [drool] but I love more than anything that they are different and reflect each child. AMAZING project life spreads, as always. You and I are working on the same blanket, HIGH FIVES! We can DO this!

    • Thank you for your lovely comment Kellie! The cupcakes were lovely – I only got a bite but, all that hard labour and for only a bite! Little rascals did not want to share, or have their teacher miss out! Their response – well you have to make my birthday cake mummy so you can have more of that! Thank you for the opportunity to link up – I cannot wait to see all the amazing projects, what a wonderful idea!

  2. Love that you capture the uniqueness of all of your kids Ali, I know that at times, especially when life is busy, it is oh so easy to just make one thing and they need to just ‘live with it’, but I know that they will appreciate that when the world knows them as ‘the triplets’ you know them simply as Emma, Brendan and Cakelyn, three individual and unique people with their own views, values, likes and dislikes! It’s a challenge that we multimummies face more often than most and I know that our babies appreciate our efforts!!!

    • I don’t think I could have put it better if I tried! Thank you Mel – sometimes I am sure people think I am over the top with keeping them as three separate people instead of three people. And I KNOW you would get it, with your two lots of two! You’re amazing mate!

  3. OH well done on the knitting! I used to when I was a kid, but I don’t concentrate long enough counting the stitches these days LOL… and the kids distract me too! Loving your PL! And love seeing you bake as well… another one of my creative outlets too XO Charm

  4. Love how you make the cupcakes to suit your kids personalities! It’s super fun! And it seems to be blanket making central around here since I’m also working on a knitted blanket! 🙂

    • Hi Jess! Thanks so much for your lovely comment!
How is your blanket coming along? It’s perfect weather for it – even in Queensland!
As for the cupcakes – thanks! I think they need to know they are not just a ‘batch’!!

    • Oh Sue! As if I would put you to shame!!! Batch cooking takes creativity – it’s like Tetris getting it all to fit in my freezer haha!!!
And the cupcakes – thanks! I try to keep them as individuals and not a batch!! X
